EUROPULS – THE CENTRE OF EUROPEAN EXPERTISE, the initiator and organizer of the EUROSFAT forum, is a non-governmental organization founded in 2010 in Brussels by a group of Romanian experts in European affairs. Its purpose is to promote the European integration process in Romania and to help develop a European public space. Europuls aims to encourage public debates on European issues through articles and studies, and by organizing seminars, workshops and conferences. European commissioners, Romanian and foreign MEPs, political leaders, civil society representatives, experts and journalists are the main participants at these events.

The word ‘sfat’ means both ‘council’ and ‘advice’ in Romanian and its association with the term ‘Euro’, sets the stage, every year since 2013, for the one moment in the Romanian agenda when Europe is the main topic, in all its forms and problems.

The 6th edition of the Eurosfat Forum envisages a broad discussion oriented towards the future: of Romania, of the European Union and of Romania within the EU. If Eurosfat 2017 has been an assessment moment, in 2018 we come up with concrete proposals for the following years or even decades on how Romania can be part of the European core. Europuls thus brings to the forefront a debate about Romania's contribution in relaunching the European project and the steps to be taken until and after the Sibiu Summit in May 2019.

Eurosfat 2018 will take up a different format compared to previous years. During the first part of the event we will welcome you on the 6th of June to a citizens' dialogue with Tibor Navracsics, European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport. On this occasion, we will learn about the European Commission's vision of the future of the European Union and the potential of education in tackling the current challenges on the European continent, the chances of creating a European Education Union, and the Commission's educational plans by 2025.

The second part of the event is the actual Eurosfat Forum, which will take place on the 8th of June and where the main decision-makers in Romania will be present at a debate along with civil society representatives, giving them the opportunity to express their opinion on Romania's place in the future European Union. You will find out what is the role that citizens and the political class can play in shaping the future of Europe and the benefits that might emerge from an active participation in this process. The discussion will be followed by 9 workshops, and at the end of the event, we propose you a cultural event.

For more details please visit www.europuls.ro. The event is organized with the support and under the patronage of the European Parliament, the European Commission Representation in Romania, the Bulgarian and Austrian Presidencies of the Council of the European Union.
